Seats / Types / Divisions / Sub-dosha of vata dosha

As the tridoshas are present in our whole body, some parts are dominated by them. These parts are known as seats of that doshas. Vata dominates the lower part of the body.

Large intestine / Pakwashaya

It is the main seat of vata dosha. In this part vata dosha is formed during digestion. Vata dosha is increased due to its new formation.

Pelvic region / Kati

It consists of ovaries and uterus in females, urinary bladder, and lower part of intestine. These organs perform function mainly expulsion e.g. expulsion of foetus through uterus, menstruation through uterus, urine excretion through urinary bladder. These functions are stimulated by vata mainly.

Thighs / Sakthi

Due to flexion and extension of muscles, one is able to move. Hence it is the vata seat due to its stimulation.

Ears / Shrotra

Both ears and vata dosha are dominated by Aakash mahabhuta. Hence it is the main seat of vata dosha.

Bones / Ashti

These are hard structure. This hardness is due to vata dosha (due to its ruksha property).
